Philosophy
Pippi Langstrumpf
My view of children is shaped by many years of experience as a paediatrician and mother. As a staunch advocate of conventional medicine, I have also come to understand that paediatrics is more than just the collection of isolated medical parameters. Taking a holistic view of children and their families is the basis of my work.
Accompanying children’s development is not a natural ability, but something we can learn. And as adults – as parents, educators, teachers, paediatricians – we can and should seek help in this.
This diversity of perspectives has had a lasting influence on and enriched my work in more than 20 years of professional activity – both during my ten years at the research centre and at the Charité University Medical Centre’s paediatric clinic, and now in my own practice.
Your child is unique. That is why I see it as my responsibility to perceive and treat them in this spirit during every visit.
